Overview

gle/ASC-573R is an onboard, compact and rugged standalone unit designed to convert, Harvard Bi-Phase coded, 12 bit, four minorframes, avionic bus (ARINC 573 / 717) to asynchronous serial RS-232.  By using a serial terminal emulator it can be programmed to support 64 / 128 / 256 / 512 /1 024 words per second.

Each minorframe is divided into eight parts to form eight RS232 serial messages.  Each serial message is identified by an unique header, that is different for each minorframe.

In this way ARINC 573 / 717 parameters can be easily  parsed by a FTI DAU equipped of a RS-232 input serial interface.

Optionally this unit can be provided with a USB 2.0 interface and/or in a portable enclosure that, in combination with gle/TelemetryStudio software, represents a cost-effective tool for pre-flight and laboratory tests.

gle/ASC-573I is the portable version of gle/ASC-573R and can be directly powered via a standard USB port.
